Obituary for Josephine M. Razzano (DeLorenzo) WATERVLIET – Josephine M. Razzano, 104, died Saturday, March 24, 2018. Born in Troy, NY on September 7, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni DeLorenzo and Mary (Mancinelli) DeLorenzo. She was the wife for 54 years of Anthony (Tut) Razzano, who died in 1991.
Josephine lived a long and happy life. Her bags were always packed, just in case one of her children asked her to accompany them on a trip. She has been to Hawaii, Italy, Mexico, Canada, Florida, drove cross-country to visit her son in California, and spent many summer days in Ocean City, MD and the winters in Myrtle Beach, SC with her children.
She also enjoyed going to the casino occasionally. Josephine worked as a seamstress, retiring from Tiny Town Togs in Troy in 1977 when the factory closed. She also enjoyed making clothes for her daughter and granddaughters, including her daughter’s wedding dress.
She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Watervliet and St. Anthony of Padua Church in Troy where she was married in 1937. Josephine was the beloved mother of John S. Razzano, Joann (Thomas) Mackey, Patrick (Maria) Razzano and Robert Razzano.
She was the cherished grandmother of Lynn Razzano, Anthony Razzano, Sandra Apkarian and her children Joseph and Olivia; Patrick “PJ” (Kelly) Razzano and their children Ryan and Megan; Joseph (Melissa) Razzano and their children JJ and Dominic; and Patricia (William) Monast and their children Sophia and Giovanni. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Amelia Willsey of Lakeland, FL and Thelma DeLorenzo of Highland Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband,d she was predeceased by her sister, Margaret DeLorenzo, and her brothers Joseph DeLorenzo and Fr.
Francis S. DeLorenzo, OFM. A funeral service will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Troy on Thursday at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet.
Friends are invited to call at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Wednesday from 4-7 pm.
