Josephine Rose Copani Burke, age 91, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018. She was born March 3, 1927 in Batavia NY. She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, as well as the St. Veronica Guild (prayer and devotion), The St. Lucy Guild (charity fundraising craft sales) and the St. Teresa Guild (baptism adornments).

She enjoyed many beach vacations with her children, and loved to attend her grandchildren’s school presentations and sports games.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Burke, parents, Samuel and Mary Copani. Survivors: Sons: John M. Burke, and Timothy Burke (Ginger Davis) Daughters: Maryanne (Randy) Hobbs, Kathy (John) Mihalczo, Colleen (Dan) Stitzel, Joanne (Steve) Childs. Grandchildren: Aaron (Natasha) Cox, Jason ( Crystal ) Hobbs, Charles Cox, Nathan Ledford, Matthew (Dustie) Hobbs, Katrina (Joe) Goldman, Sarah Hobbs, Sam (Kristin) Ledford, Thomas Mihalczo, Allison Mihalczo, Stephanie Smith,  Austin (Bailey) Smith, Sydney Burke, Blake Childs, and Alex Burke.

Great grandchildren: 9 Siblings – Jack Copani, Gracie Deni (James) – New York, Carmen Copani (Sandy) – Florida Many nieces and nephews   In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s School or St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, both – 327 Vermont Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. Receiving of friends will be held 10:00 AM Friday, September 21, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oak Ridge. The funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM with Father Shelton officiating.

Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens on Hwy. 61. A reception lunch will be held afterwards at St. Mary’s Church for family and friends.
