Carolyn Fain Smelcer age 79 of Lenoir City passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018. She was born on July 9, 1939 and raised in Pigeon Forge. Carolyn, along with her late husband Johnny, were owners of Honda Motorcycle dealerships in Knoxville and Airport Honda dealership in Alcoa beginning in 1961.

She was a member of Henderson Chapel Baptist Church and had recently been attending First Baptist Concord in Knoxville. They were member of Dixie Traveliers and were also members of FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association).

Mrs. Smelcer was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Smelcer Jr. (Johnny); father, Vernon Aubry Fain; mother, Ruth LaFollette Fain; brother, Ronnie Fain; mother-in law, Grace Martin Smelcer Clabo; step father-in law, Charlie Clabo; brother-in-law, Fred (Doc) McCarter. Mrs. Smelcer is survived by her sister, LaVerne Fain McCarter; step mother, Dorothy Kopp Fain; sister-in law, Janice Fain Ailey and husband Rob; uncle, Marvin Fain and wife Joy; nephews, Nicky McCarter and wife Cindy, Brian Fain and wife Anna, Chad Fain; great- nephews, Jack Fain, Luke Fain; great- nieces, Alexis McCarter, Skye McCarter, Isabel Fain; special friend Peg Walker; and members of the Fain, LaFollette, Martin, Clabo and Smelcer families. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909.

The family will receive friends 10 AM- 12 PM Saturday with a funeral service to follow at 12 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Loveday officiating. Interment will follow the service at Pigeon Forge Baptist Cemetery.
