Bradley Wayne Burns, 55, of Richmond, passed away of natural causes, on September 4th, 2018. Brad was born in Novato, California on September 5th, 1962. His family moved to Richmond shortly after his birth, and he resided there ever since.

He loved baseball, and played throughout his youth. Most particularly, he was a catcher for Legion Baseball for 4 years. Brad graduated from Richmond High School in 1980.

He was excited to begin his life and was interested in pursuing an engineering degree… Read More » at Purdue University. Sadly, Brad was diagnosed with schizophrenia at nineteen. Because of his diagnosis, he faced many challenges throughout his life.

Despite those challenges, he had a love of technology. He would spend many hours rebuilding computers he purchased at yard sales or in flea markets. He also worked at English Manor Apartments as a custodian.

The family would like to thank all the many people who worked for Dunn Mental Health and Centerstone. Brad would not have enjoyed the life he had, without the wonderful care and support he received through these remarkable organizations. Brad is survived by his parents, Donald and Barbara Burns (Gatlinburg, TN); sister, Brenda Thomas, (Gatlinburg, TN); 3 brothers, Bruce (Vicki) Burns, (Indianapolis, IN), David (Shelley) Burns, (Bloomington, IN), Christopher (Jill) Burns, (Indianapolis).

He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews, as well as 4 great nieces and nephews. There will be a private celebration of life in Gatlinburg, TN at a later date. Brad’s family requests any donations please be made to Centerstone in Richmond, IN.
