Obituary for Joshua Myles Ristaino Joshua Myles Ristaino passed away on December 28, 2018 as a result of injuries received from an accident at his country home in Copake, NY. He was being comforted by friends and family at the time of his passing at the Albany Medical Center. He was 43 years old.

Joshua was born in Boston, MA on April 5, 1975. He was the first-born son of Edward L. Ristaino. As the son of a United States Coast Guard officer, the family lived in many places including New York City, South Bend, Indiana and Miami, Florida.

Joshua often spoke fondly of childhood memories playing with his little brother, Brandon, while living on Governor’s Island. He eventually settled in New York City. He was longtime resident of Brooklyn where he lived with the love of his life, Thomas S. Buckett.

Joshua’s appreciation for beauty led him to a career as a hair and makeup artist. He proudly pursued this passion by creating looks for editorials and red carpets. From friends, to family to celebrities, he had a natural ability and talent for making others look and feel their best.

The consummate host, he was most often found in the kitchen creating joy for others through his cooking. Joshua’s other great passion was travel. He explored different parts of the world extensively, and wherever he went, he sought out the most authentic cultural experiences.

Joshua is survived by his partner of eight years Thomas, father Edward, stepmother Michelle, siblings Brandon, Kyle, Marco and Renata, paternal grandmother Regina and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Joshua gave in death as he gave in life, and his final act of kindness was as an organ donor. His donation will be felt by many and immediately through a heart transplant provided to a person in need on December 30, 2018.
