Cecak, 78, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, March 1, 2019, at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher and Deacon Stan Upah officiating. Interment will be held at a future date at Maple Grove Cemetery in rural Tama.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM prior to Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Joyce was born on September 3, 1940, on the family farm in York Twp. in Tama County, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Upah) Cecak.

Joyce graduated from Toledo High School. She was employed at Rockwell Collins for thirty-six years. Joyce was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama.

She enjoyed family gatherings, especially with the cousins and also loved making Christmas candy. Survivors include her siblings, Marjorie Nekola of Tama, Dianne Pokorny of Clutier, and Dale (Judy) Cecak of Le Grand; brother-in-law, Frank Kriz of Clutier; sister-in-law, Mary Cecak of Toledo; two aunts, Violet Dvorak of Clutier and Leona Cecak of Toledo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Marvin Cecak and Edward Cecak; one sister, Marcella Kriz; one nephew, Jerry Cecak; and two brothers-in-law.

Memorials may be directed to the Tama Ambulance Service.
