Joyce Lorraine Woodbury, 76, of Whitefield, ME went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 25th at the Augusta Center for Health and Rehabilitation, surrounded by her family, after suffering from many years of asthma, COPD, and heart issues. She was a follower of Christ and a member of Christian Life Fellowship in Chelsea. She was born at home in Lynn, MA on July 24, 1941 to the late Irving and Myrtle Bissell.

She attended Lynnfield (MA) high school. She was married to the late David S. Woodbury and raised 5 children in Peabody MA. She was a member of East Baptist Church in Lynn, MA for a number of years.

In 2003 she moved to Whitefield, ME with her daughter Kathleen, where she retired but became active in serving in her church. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, and watching the wild life, especially feeding and watching the birds. She was a gourmet cook and loved to host parties and cookouts at her home.

Eating lobster, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and Lays potato chips were favorites. She also enjoyed playing card games and Scrabble, and even rode with Kathleen on trail rides on the four wheeler. They loved to relax in their La-z Boy chairs and talk, laugh and reminisce about times past.

The antics of her Yorkie ‘TC’ would make them laugh so hard they would cry. They took many scenic road trips and loved to take pictures and enjoy sunsets. She was very fond of lighthouses.

She loved to sing and play the organ, and was the organist for a number of years at her church. She enjoyed hosting ‘singspirations’ at her home, and most of all she loved to worship The Lord. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Charles, her parents, and a sister June Fifield of Leesburg, FL.

She is survived by her sons Donald (Kari) Woodbury of Dania, FL; Dr. David (Tracy Ann) Woodbury of Manning, SC; Daniel (Christina) Woodbury of Seabrook, NH; her daughter Kathleen Woodbury of Whitefield, ME; a sister Barbara (Frank) Roberts of North Reading, MA, grandchildren Colleen Hansbury; Rachael Ann, Naomi and Jason Woodbury; and Alexander and Annika Woodbury, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 31st at 10 am at Christian Life Fellowship Church, 1158 Eastern Ave Chelsea, ME with burial to follow at Whitefield cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the church immediately prior to the funeral service, from 8-10 am.
