Obituary for Judith A. Gentry RICHMOND, Ind. – Judith A. Gentry, age 79, of Richmond, Indiana, danced into Heaven Thursday, January 10, 2019, surrounded by her family. Born December 13, 1939, in Richmond, Indiana, to Galen and Florence Alsop Gethers, Judie was a life-long resident of Richmond.

She was a 1959 graduate of Richmond High School. Judie was a member of Wesleyan Church. Her Christian faith was her priority in life.

Judie led others to God, not only by sharing His word, but by living as an example of Christ. Her children and grandchildren were the treasures of her heart. Judie worked as a waitress for many years at Alsop’s Grill, owned by her uncle and aunt, Floyd and Phyllis Alsop.

She had an amazing sense of humor and loved making people laugh. Judie enjoyed singing, dancing, baking, and crocheting. Survivors include her children, Dale (Rita) Gentry of Richmond, Jana (former spouse, Phillip) Chestnut of Springfield, Ohio, Dana (Darby) Chasteen of Lynn, Indiana, and Dawn Gentry of Richmond; grandchildren, Rhiannon, Brandon, Duncan, Shannon, Kerra, Bethany, Alan, and Cory; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Gethers of Alabama; aunt, Phyllis Alsop of Richmond; nieces; nephews; cousins; children’s father, Gary Gentry; and many friends, including her dearest friend, Carolyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barbara Robbins. Visitation for Judith A. Gentry will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Chaplain Jon Bennett officiating.

Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to the family via the guest book at www. doanmillsfuneralhome.com.
