Judith S. Jensen, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Thursday morning in her home in Danville from causes incident to age. She was born April 2, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest of five children born to Erastus Daniel Sorensen and Ann Parry.

Judith attended East High in Salt Lake City, where she met J. Allen Jensen — the love of her life. She attended the University of Utah, where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. On December 27, 1943, she married Allen Jensen while he was home on leave.

After the war, opportunity brought them to California, and they eventually bought a beautiful new home in 1955 in the town of Danville. Judith made this house a home for her five children, and she loved every minute of being a wife and mom. She was an amazing cook, and always had a delicious family meal on the table each evening at 6pm.

She stayed active, maintaining many close friendships, and an active social calendar. Her children noted that she had more visitors, and went out to lunch more at 95 year-old than they did. She loved children, and was involved in the local schools, attending field trips, and helping children learn to read as a teacher’s aide.

She was also very involved with the children and youth at her church, serving for several decades as a leader in various capacities. Family came first to Judith, she was always very involved in her children’s and grand-children’s activities. She is survived by her five children and their spouses: John and Allyn Joy Palmer of Livermore, CA; Ron and Jane Hanson of Seattle, WA; Val and Dorothy Stephens of Sacramento, CA; Jim and Peggy Jensen of Minneapolis, MN; Robert and Debbie Jensen of San Ramon, CA; 25 grandchildren and 53 Great-Grand Children.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Saturday June 16th, 2018, at the Stone Valley Road Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints near Monte Vista High School. The family will greet friends Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Oak Park Hills Chapel, 3111 N. Main St. Walnut Creek, and at the Stone Road LDS Church on Saturday from 10:00am to 10:50 am. Following the funeral, burial will be In the Oakmont Cemetery in Lafayette, CA.
