Obituary for Judy Christopher Judy Dodd Christopher, 91, of Grifton, NC, passed away on February 24, 2018, at Ayden Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ayden, NC. A native of Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of Rosa Brownlee Johnston Dodd and James W. Dodd. Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clyde Franklin Christopher, Jr. of Grifton and her son Jeffrey Scott Christopher of San Francisco, CA.

Survivors include son Frank Marchant Christopher of Clayton, NC, daughters Jean Christopher Blackwell of Carrboro, NC, Susan Christopher Davis (husband Kenneth) of Goldsboro, NC, and Cynthia Lynn Christopher of Zebulon, NC. Survivors also include granddaughter Elizabeth Blackwell Sorensen (husband Jon) and great-grandchildren Frank Edward and Sara Sorensen, all of Sandefjord, Norway; grandson John Christopher Blackwell (wife Kristine) and great-grandchildren Tyler, Chandler, Spencer, and Grace Blackwell, all of Salisbury, NC. Judy was a member of the Grifton Presbyterian Church.

She had a strong faith and was involved in all things related to the church, attending services both there and at the Grifton United Methodist Church whenever possible. A good listener with a ready smile, a loving heart, and an open mind, she formed strong bonds with people who became loyal friends throughout life. Many of these friends were participants in an exercise class where she could walk faster and kick higher than any eighty-something should be able to do.

Many thanks to the caring staff at Ayden Court and the faithful friends who surrounded her with love and kindness at the end of life. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 3rd at 2:00 at Farmer Funeral Service, 109 Second Street, Ayden, NC. A reception will immediately follow the service.
