Julia N. (Judy) Smith died peacefully at her home in Bonita Springs Florida on January 29, 2019. Julia was born to Elsie and Russell Redden September 29, 1918 in Morgantown, Indiana . She was the last surviving member of her high school graduating class.

Her brother Dan pre-deceased her. Julia grew up in Covington, Indiana before moving to Lafayette where she worked at Painters and Decorators. She met her Husband, Theodore J. Smith when he was a law student.

They married in 1941 and had four children. In addition to raising the kids Judy was Ted’s legal secretary for many years, long before working moms were the norm. Ted died in 1992 and Judy lived her remaining years in Florida.

Judy’s 100 years were filled with travel and adventure. She and Ted took many trips from Arizona to Australia, Iceland to Ireland and from Hot air ballooning to cruising the Caribbean. She was an avid thrift shopper and loved everything from Chico’s.

She was a great dog lover and several of them will be waiting for her with tails wagging. Judy is survived by her four children, Leslie Ullstrup (Pete), Scottsdale, Arizona, Sylvia Smith-Graham, (Pat), Kokomo, Indiana, Phillip Smith, Bonita Springs, Florida, and Brian Smith (Sharon), West Lafayette, Indiana. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren including her God- daughter, Betsy, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Missing her dearly are many friends, including Terrie and Niel Kempe, her traveling buddies, Tom Neale and Glen Schlofeldt and precious little chihuahua, Sarah. No services are planned. Interment will be private.
