The loving family of William Glen Rees celebrate an amazing life. Bill passed on January 18, 2019, at his home in Bonita Springs, Florida, at the age of 89. Bill was born in Toledo, Ohio, to William and Rose Rees.

He graduated from Trenton High School and Michigan State University where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and graduated with a business degree. He remained a life-long Spartan. In a career that spanned 30 years, Bill helped build Crawford & Company, an independent insurance adjusting firm, into an international business.

Working as an adjuster in Chicago, he met Marilyn Anne Johnson. They were married in 1956 and moved to South Bend, Indiana, in 1963 where they built a home and raised a family. They were members of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church.

In 1994, Bill and Marilyn retired to Bonita Springs. They traveled the world and were married 62 adventure-filled years. Bill was known for his tennis, his landscape paintings, his warmth, generosity, and sense of humor.

Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs where he served as Deacon. Bill was preceded by his sister, Helen Sprengel. Bill is survived by Marilyn and their children, Janine Ann of Bonita Springs, and Richard William of Monroe, Ohio, his wife Tiffany Ann and grandson, Sky William.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 28, 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs at 9751 Bonita Beach Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs, 26100 Old 41 Road. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home.
