Joan E. Loft, 85 of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Joanne’s Hospice House in Bonita Springs. Joan was born in Hamilton, Ontario Canada and moved to North Tonawanda, NY early in her life. Joan and her husband, Bob (now deceased) left NT shortly after they married and moved to Sarasota, Florida for 28 years.

Joan worked in the school system in Sarasota, Florida and then as a realtor for 30 years with ReMax Sundance in Bonita Springs. Joan and Bob came to Bonita Springs in the ’80s and loved it in Bonita. They stated that Bonita Springs was so similar to what Sarasota was like when they first moved there (small town feeling, quiet, and quaint).

They moved to Bonita permanently in 1990. Joan was a faithful parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church as well as a member of the Ladies of the Knights of Columbus. Joan was a member of the Great Gals of Bonita Springs who enjoyed lunches, dinners and any other outings that promised to have wine.

Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and going to the beach and doing any kind of craft. Joan and her husband were also heavily involved in Worldwide Marriage Encounter for over 30 years. Joan is survived by her beloved dog, Louie of Bonita Springs and her son George (Mickey) Loft of Arcadia, daughter Victoria Loft of Sarasota and Victoria’s children Danny Fortner, Victoria’s grandchild Daniel Fortner (Joan’s latest great-grandchild) & Alyssa Nasi of Gainesville, FL; daughter Rebecca (Loft) Frye of Bonita Springs and Rebecca’s children Brittany (Blasucci) Luikert of Bonita Springs and Rebecca’s grandchildren Chase Johnson (Joan’s first great-grandchild) and Briella Luikert (Joan’s only great-granddaughter); and Richie Blasucci of High Springs, FL and Rebecca’s grandchildren Zane & Wyatt Blasucci & Rebecca’s child Vinnie Blasucci of Portland, ME.

Joan is also survived by her sisters Carole (Coldicott) Martin of Bonita Springs and Audrey (Coldicott) Beatty & Judy (Coldicott) Meredith of North Tonawanda and her Brother-In-Law John Loft of Melbourne, FL. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by husband, Bob and her son Bobby and infant son Peter, along with her siblings, Bill Coldicott and Mary (Coldicott) Galus. The family will receive on Friday, February 1st, 2019 from 4:00–6:00 PM at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail So.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 2nd at 9:30 AM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 28290 Beaumont Road, Bonita Springs, FL 34134.
