Julie’s Obituary Julie A. Marincel, age 64, of Ashland, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center, in Ashland. She was born August 31, 1954, in Superior, the daughter of Henry D. “Bill” and Margaret (Stefanko) Smith. In 1973, she graduated from Superior High School and then attended Indianhead Technical College, in Superior.

Julie started work as a secretary at Duluth First Bank. On August 2, 1986, she married Thomas J Marincel, in Ashland. In 1991, she and her husband adopted their two sons, Colin and Cody.

Julie worked a short time at Larson Juhl, in Ashland and then was a cook at Our Lady of the Lake School, for six years. Prior to retiring in 2016, she worked in food service at Northland College. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, in Ashland.

Julie enjoyed sewing, gardening, her weekly Casino trips, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas J Marincel, Ashland; two sons, Colin and Cody Marincel, both of Ashland; mother, Margaret Smith, Superior; a sister, Mary Kay Fanetti, Bloomer; a brother, Dennis Smith, Superior; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry “Bill” Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, in Ashland with Fr. Joseph Kumar Mayakuntla officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, on Friday, at the church.

Spring inurnment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, in Ashland. Arrangements are by Frost Home for Funerals and Ashland Crematory Service.
