June Marie Clayton Brumfield (92) of 163 Sherwood Drive, died, Monday, March 25, 2019. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Ballard Pruitt Post #647, a member of Kaufman-Brydon Chapter of the Eastern Star #87, and American Legion Auxiliary #1097. She was also a Gold-Star parent.

She was predeceased by her husband, Shirley Martin “Snooky” Brumfield; two sons, Shirley Martin Brumfield, Jr., and Stephen Michael Brumfield; and daughter, Macy F. Brumfield. She was born in Danville, VA and after marrying, moved frequently due to job obligations then later retired back to Danville, VA. June loved sitting by the window and watching her flowers and the birds, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and her cat Snowball.

June is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie B. and Mike Lefler of Wildersville, TN; daughter-in-laws, Barbara A. Yarbrough and Gail Crouse; grandchildren, Angela, DJ, David, Dina, Suzanne, and Heaven; nine great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; and a special friend and caregiver, MaryAnn Jones. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Highland Burial Park with family officiating the service. Interment will follow in the cemetery.

The family will be at the residence, 163 Sherwood Drive, Danville, VA 24540. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VFW Ladies Auxiliary #647 at 275 VFW Dr, Danville, VA 2454. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is respectfully serving the Brumfield family.
