Obituary for Karen Arlene Peters Karen Arlene Peters July 12, 1951 – April 7, 2018 Karen Arlene Peters, 66, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday at UPMC Altoona, after an extended illness. She was born in Lewistown, daughter of the late Howard and Joyce (McKillips) Wilt. On Nov.

27, 1971, she married Allen Peters in Lewistown. Surviving are her husband; two daughters: Susan (John) Estep and Lisa Peters; two grandchildren: Atalya and Schyler; two sisters: Melissa Houck and Beth Richards; a niece, Joyce Ryan; a nephew, John Houck; three great-nieces; and one great-nephew. Karen was a 1969 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School, Reedsville.

She worked for the Church of God, where she worked as a children’s home houseparent from 2001-04 in North Carolina. She was a member of Altoona Restoration Church of God. She loved her children and grandchildren, and they were the light of her life.

She loved the beach, her husband, family, her cats, music, especially Elvis Presley. Karen also enjoyed traveling and she cherished her family. Friends will be received from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, April 13, 2018, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, the Rev.
