Karen Louise Iverson Black, 76 passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the Brigham City Community Hospital. Karen was born January 30, 1942 a daughter of Helen Barfuss and Kenneth A. Iverson in Logan, Utah. She grew up in Sunset, UT.

Karen married Elmer Leon Black June 6, 1963 in the Logan Temple, he passed away April 5, 1986. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed working in the Temple. Karen earned a nursing degree from St. Benedicts Nursing School in Ogden, UT.

She enjoyed square dancing, traveling with family and friends, she was a fervent reader and often a part of a book club. Karen enjoyed sudoku puzzles and she was a devoted daughter to her parents, she was their care taker at the end of their lives. Surviving are her children: Bruce Elmer (“A”) Black, Bellevue, WA; Kenneth Leon (Millie) Black, ST.

Louis, MO; Lori Anne Black, Long Beach, CA; Richard Andrew (Shaunnae) Black, Roy, UT; Amy Louise (Matt) Pinkston, Smithfield, UT and 11 grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and husband. The family would like to thank Maple Springs for the loving care they gave to Karen.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT. Viewings will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery, in Millville, Utah.
