Daphne Hilda Winters, 83, passed away January 24, 2019. She was born June 15, 1935 in Norwich, England to James and Hilda Body Bassett. Daphne grew up in Norwich, England where she received her education.

She lived in Utah, Monterey, CA, and then moved back to Roy, UT. Daphne married Lon Arnold Hansen and they had 3 children. They later divorced.

She married Don Franklyn Winters Sr. in Nevada and they were married for 30 beautiful years. She worked as a cashier and waitress at Hill Air Force Base and was a caregiver to her family. Daphne enjoyed helping and caring for others by fostering children, foreign exchange students, preparing food for the homeless and taking in many people and bettering their lives.

She loved knitting, playing cards and games, water aerobics, teaching many to swim. Daphne was a world traveler, enjoyed lunch dates with friends and family. She was involved in the British Wives Club and the Syracuse Activity Center.

Everyone was drawn to her for her spunky, good hearted, feisty, giving and loving personality. All who came around her had a bloody good time. Daphne was a Christian and attended Wasatch Cowboy Church, bible study and weekly potlucks.

She is survived by her children: Derek Hansen of California, Christina Hansen of Utah; Step Sons: Eric Winters (Jenny) of Maryland, Don Winters Jr. (Debbie) of Arizona, and Ronald Winters (Debra) of California; Siblings: Jean Butler (Roy) of England, twin sister Dorothy Mitchell of England, Raymond Bassett (Sharon) of Oregon, Kenneth Bassett (Jean) of England, Margaret Potter of England and Roy Bassett of Thailand. 10 Grandchildren; Derek Layton (Sandi) of Idaho, Kerry Layton (Rachel) of Utah, Michael Winters, Shane Winters, Sarah Winters, Justin Winters, Dawn Winters, Jacob Winters and Samuel Winters. She was preceded in death by her parents, honey and love of her life Don Winters, son, Todd Hansen, step son, Randy Winters and eldest brother Derek Bassett.
