Kathleen A. Biron, age 77, of Johnstown passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gloversville on January 2, 1942 to the late Martin R. Ellis and Eleanor Arlene Kested Ellis. Kathleen attended Johnstown Schools and Fulton Montgomery Community College receiving certification in Food Service Administration.

She was married to Donald R. Biron on January 9, 1958, recently celebrating 61 years united in marriage. Kathleen worked for the Johnstown and Gloversville School Districts and also Wells Nursing Home. She volunteered on behalf of the First United Methodist Church as a part of the NOAH Community Meal Program.

She served as a member of the Johnstown PTA for many years throughout her children’s lives. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her kindness and generosity will be remembered and cherished by her family and friends.

She dedicated her life to those around her and will be missed by all who had the opportunity to hear her laugh and call her Kathy, Mom, Grandma, Nana, or Mrs. Biron. In addition to her husband, Donald R. Biron, Kathleen is survived by her son Donald J. (Karin), daughter Kelly (Scott), son James (Louise), daughter Margaret; grandchildren William (Cinda), Jacob (Caitlin), McKenzie, Quinn (Thomas), Lucas, Amy (Finley), Nathan, Jason, Adam, James (Anastasia), Abigail and seven great grandchildren. Kathleen is also survived by her sister Barbara (Curt), niece Debra (Steve) and nephew Paul (Joy).

Mrs. Biron was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Eleanor and her beloved grandson Zachary Biron. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Foothills United Methodist Church, 17 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A celebration of life for Kathleen will immediately follow.

Memorial visitation for family and friends will be prior to the service from 1:00 P.M to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathleen’s memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, New York 12078. Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
