Obituary for Kathryn M. Ulery Kathryn M. Ulery, 98, of Normalville formerly a long time resident of Jones Mills died Monday October 15, 2018 in RNC of Greater Pittsburgh at Grensburg. She was born March 15, 1920 in Stahlstown a daughter of the late Rush and Rebecca Marker Ulery. Mrs. Ulery was a 1939 graduate of the former Hurst High School.
Early in her life worked as a cosmetologist and hair dresser. She later worked at Jamesway in Somerset for 26 years and also worked at the family’s store in Jones Mills. Early in her life she was active in Brownies and girl scouting and she also volunteered at the free clinic of Dr. Eleanor Morris.
She was a member of the Ladies Bowling League and a member of the Acme United Methodist Church. She is survived by two children, Lanny Ulery and his wife Nancy of Donegal and Karen Firestone of Normalville; her grandchildren, Todd Ulery and his wife Janine, Tricia Brown and her husband Chad, Tonya Morrison and her husband David, Farrah Hartis and her husband Joshua, Leanne Leonard and her husband Tim and Steven Firestone and his wife Tammy; her great grandchildren, Brooke Ulery, Hannah Brown, Taylor Morrison, Kaitlyn Morrison, Teryn Hartis, Cade Hartis, Cole Leonard and Cole Firestone; two sisters, Loretta King of Donegal and Nancy Shultz of Uniontown; a brother, Richard Ulery and his wife Wilma of Darlington; daughter-in-law Carol Ann Ulery of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews including a special nieces, Eunice Noel and a special nephew Eric Meyers. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Donald Ulery; a son, Terry Ulery; son-in-law, Rodney Firestone and brothers, John, Daryl, Rush, Jr. and Eugene Ulery.
Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. Thursday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., corner of Municipal Building Road and Route 711, Melcroft, Pa. Additional viewing will take place in the Acme United Methodist Church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., the hour of funeral services with Rev. John Logan officiating.
