Obituary for Kathy B. Umbarger Big Stone Gap, VA Kathy B. Umbarger, 61, passed away on Thursday (April 19, 2018) at her home, following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap and was a former employee of Lonesome Pine Hospital, Big Stone Gap Bank and Trust, and Firestone. She was of Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Mary (Kern) Umbarger; and brothers, Charles and Gary Umbarger. Surviving are her longtime companion, Ronnie Lyons; two sisters, Virginia Colvard of Breese, IL and Jo Ann Eldridge of Joliet, IL; several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Marie (Kern) Holaway of Whitesburg, TN; and other extended family. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap.

The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Evangelist Buddy Wilson officiating. Entombment services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Glencoe Cemetery Mausoleum in Big Stone Gap. Family and friends will meet by 1:50 p.m. Tuesday at Glencoe Cemetery.
