Kendall Steele, 88, of rural Lake Odessa passed away in his sleep at his home on Wednesday January 9, 2019. He was born June 4, 1930 to Levi and Thelma (Tift) Steele. He attended Darby Elementary School and Lake Odessa High School.

He served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married Joyce Ransom from Charlotte and they celebrated 64 years together, she survives him. He was proud of his family: two sons; Kenneth (Brenda) Steele and James (Yvonne Morris) Steele both of Lake Odessa, a daughter Jean (Robin Thomsen) of Rockford, two grandsons; Ryan (Claire) Steele of Howell and Jeremy Steele of Lansing and two great- grandchildren, Leah and Matthew Steele, sister Verlene (Ted) Rhoades of Clarksville, brother Roy Steele of Portland, OR, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Reatha and a brother Duane. Kendall farmed all his life, enjoyed the out-of-doors and watching the growth and harvest of crops. He enjoyed golf, played softball and gardening.

Visitation will be held on Sunday January 13, 2019 from 5pm until 7pm at Koops Funeral Chapel and Monday January 14, 2019 from 10am until time of service. Funeral will be held at 11am on Monday January 14, 2019 at Koops Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place at 2pm on Monday January 14, 2019 at Fuller Cemetery.
