Landon “Pete” Phelps, age 76, of 465 Jamerson Road-S. , Lot# 10, Danville, VA, died on April 19, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Phelps was born on March 21, 1942, in Pittsylvania County, VA, a son of the late Rawleigh Phelps and Eva Turner Phelps.

He was employed with Petty’s Nursery as a landscaper and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Mr. Phelps was married to Lucille Phelps who preceded him in death. Mr. Phelps is survived by sisters, Carrie Phelps and Mary Phelps; a brother, Coleman Phelps (Marian); and a sister-in-law, Wendy Phelps.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Junior Phelps. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Terrell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the Phelps Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA 24541. Swicegood Funeral Service is respectfully serving the Phelps family.
