Larry Herzing, age 74, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at his home. Larry was born on July 21, 1944, in Granite City, IL, a son of the late Willard Herzing and Alva (Stearns) Herzing. On July 9, 1979, Larry and Mary were married in St. Louis, MO.

Larry retired from American Steel Foundry as a supervisor after many years of dedicated service. Larry loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Moxey; brother, Glenn Herzing; and by a grandson, Laine Cooper. He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-nine years, Mary (Coleman) Herzing of Granite City, IL; children, Tamara Cooper and Ricky Herzing; step-children, Janet Carroll and Scott Carroll; grandchildren, Jason Herzing and Alyssa Herzing; siblings, Danny Herzing, Gary Herzing, Bobby Herzing and Judy Helms; extended family and many dear friends. In celebration of Larry’s life, a visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL, with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m., with Rev.

Clint Wisdom officiating. Memorial donations may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice. Donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
