Obituary for Lawrence Cory “Larry” Walls Lawrence Cory “Larry” Walls, age 49, passed away in an automobile accident on Saturday, May 26, 2018 in Hallsville, Texas. He was born on August 23, 1968 in Manhattan, Kansas to Lawrence Earl and Patricia Ann Walls. Larry is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, F.D. and Lois Stuart and George and Lennie Smith, and his uncle, Tommy Stuart.
Larry is survived by the loves of his life, his three children, Cory Holden Walls, Lauren Kennedy Walls and Emmalee Lois Walls. He is also survived by his parents, Lawrence Earl and Patricia Ann Walls; his sisters, Stacie Walls-Beegle and Leslie (Eric) Sawyers; his nieces, Ashley and Elizabeth Sawyers and Molly Beegle and his nephew, Patrick Beegle, as well as numerous other family members and friends. Larry graduated from Wakefield High School in Wakefield, Kansas.
Growing up, Larry earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was best known for his love of football. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State University. Immediately after graduation, Larry was recruited to work for the Ponder family at Republic Industries in Marshall.
He continued to work for the Ponder family at Master WoodCraft Industries as Senior Plant Manager for close to 30 years. Larry loved his job and his work family. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, mudding, motorcycles, Nascar races, BBQ and cooking.
But his true passion in life was his children, whom he adored. Those who knew Larry, knew that he was always willing to lend a helping hand; no favor was too big or too small. He loved classic country music, old western movies, motorcycles and hanging out with friends.
His passion for friends and family shone through whatever he was doing at the time. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed by his friendship. Visitation for Larry will be held at Meadowbrook Funeral Home on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 6-8pm.
Funeral Service will be held at Eastern Hills Church of Christ on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:30am with D.W. McLendon officiating. Interment will follow at Colonial Gardens Cemetery, Marshall, Texas. On-line condolences may be offered at www.
