Obituary for Richard Lee “Ricky” Dupree Richard Lee “Ricky” Dupree, age 67, passed away in Marshall, Texas on Thursday, June 7, 2018. He was born on October 6, 1950 in Shreveport, LA. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Mattie Bergt; an infant daughter and special friends, G.L. Sipes, Sr., and Clifford Bland.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Mary Beth Padgett Dupree; his daughter, Dawn Scott; his sister, Molli Phillips and her husband, Jeff; his brother, Mack Brown and his wife, Juanita; his step-children, George “Buster” Sipes, Jr. and his wife, Patti, Sarah Davis and her husband, David, Timothy Sipes and his wife, Angela; his grandchildren, Michael Sipes, Ashleigh Dinkins, Chelsea Thomas, Bradley Sipes, Timothy Sipes, Jr., Wesley Sipes, Jonathan Davis, Ty Sipes, Lexi Scott; his great grandchild, Isaiah Luman and special friends, Joanna Sipes and Donnie Ponder. Ricky is also survived by Christopher Ellis and his wife, Tammy, who were like his children, and their children, Preston Ellis and his wife, Breanna, Madison Ross and Payton Ellis. Ricky proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War in the Mekong Delta and later worked many years for Hortman Construction, C.C. Forbes and Davis Air Conditioning.

He loved music, cookouts and spending time with friends but his true passion was his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following the visitation at 7:00pm on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Hall officiating. On-line condolences may be offered at www.
