Obituary for Leanne M. Dendas Leanne M. Dendas, age 75, of Wallingford, was born July 15, 1943 to Lee Ardolino and Ann Walsh Ardolino. Leanne made a peaceful transition into heaven, receiving her wings on September 2, 2018 after a courageous year long battle with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer of the liver. ) Leanne was pre-deceased by her husband Charles R. Dendas and her brother Roger Ardolino.

Leanne leaves behind her children Ronald C. Dendas (Vicki), Charlann M. Hemstock (James) and Cathleen A. Dendas and her grandchildren, Molly, Megan, Taylor, Christopher, Kaleigh, and Lauren as well as her niece, Mary Beth Duffy. Leanne was a dedicated Catholic who was devout to Saint Jude and Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Family and friends believe Leanne will be a natural in her new heavenly home, as she was their angel-on-earth.

Leanne was retired from Southern Connecticut State University. Because of Leanne’s caring nature, she made close, life-long friends. Leanne was the world’s finest and kindest mother, grandmother and friend.

In addition to humans, Leanne was a best friend to many animals, several of them strays, who she took in, fed and cared for as her own. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to each and every caregiver at Yale’s Smilow Cancer Hospital. At Leanne’s specific request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or the Connecticut Humane Society.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10:00 in Our Lady of MT. Carmel Church, Whitney Ave. , Hamden.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5:00-7:00 pm at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave. , Hamden. www.
