Obituary for Leonard “Cotton Mutt” Arnold Leonard “Cotton Mutt” Arnold, age 68, formerly of Rufus Taylor Road, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord, on Friday, April 27, 2018, at the Fresenius Dialysis Center in Elizabethton. Mr. Arnold was the son of the Mary Evelyn Carden Arnold, of Piney Flats and the late Ralph Arnold and was born in Carter County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Arnold and an infant son, Bruce Edward Arnold.

Mr. Arnold was a former employee of SBA Telecommunication where he worked constructing cellular phone towers. He was the owner and operator of Arnold’s Concrete Finishing CO. He was also a member of the Unaka Hunting Club.

He loved to hunt and trained hunting dogs. He was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Those left to cherish his memory in addition to his mother, include his daughter, Heather Moskel and her husband, Bill, of Piney Flats; two sons, Donnie Arnold; Wayne Arnold and his wife, Cindy, all of Elizabethton; three sisters, Marie Parlier, of Elizabethton; Geneva Jean Humphries, and her husband, Gaither, of Piney Flats; Barbara Nidiffer and her husband, Wayne, of Watauga; eight grandchildren, Brandi, Tiffany, Christopher, Chelsea, Noah, Caleb, Savannah, Danielle; five great-grandchildren, Adrian, Keygian, Kyler, Blayden, and Everly.

Several nieces and nephews also survive. A service to honor the life of Mr. Arnold will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, April 30, 2018, in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Mr. Scott Fisher, minister, officiating. The family will received friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday prior to the service.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at the Cole Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Kiser, Lynn Brown, Ron Delk, and his hunting buddies.

Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nursing staff of Signature Health Care of Elizabethton and the staff of Fresenius Dialysis Center for all the love and care they have shown to Mr. Arnold and the family.
