Obituary for Hershel Lincoln Julian 2nd Timothy 2:6 Hershel Julian, 80, of Roan Mountain passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, April 24th at his home. Hershel, a native of Roan Mountain, retired from North American Rayon Corporation after 30 plus years of service. He was passionate about hard work and enjoyed farming.
He provided everyone in the community with a variety of produce, and loved sharing his crops with others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Mable Julian, of Roan Mountain, TN, and his wife, Barbara Julian, of Roan Mountain, TN. He is survived by sons, Craig (and wife Connie Julian) of Roan Mountain, and Brad (and wife Kera) of Huntersville, NC.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jacob (and wife Brooke Julian), Joshua Julian, Laura Julian Taylor (and husband Casey), Jared Julian, Andrew Julian, Jonah Julian, Lincoln Julian, and his great-grandson Judah Julian. He is also survived by two brothers, Don (and wife Pat) Julian, Gerald Julian, and sister Ondrea (and husband Lonnie) Clark. A service to honor the life of Hershel Julian will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 26, 2018 in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain with Pastor Brent Nidiffer, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday. The graveside service will be conducted at 9:30 AM on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Johnson-Roanview Cemetery. Music will be provided by Greyson Bledsoe, bagpiper.
Active pallbearers will be his grandsons and a grandson- in – law. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:20 AM on Friday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2020 Meadowview Parkway, Suite 100, Kingsport, TN 37660.
