Obituary of Leota Amond Leota “Lee” Amond, 92, of Manlius, died Monday, September 17, 2018 at her home, with her husband by her side. Born June 13, 1926, she is survived by her husband of 73 years, Chet Amond of Manlius; her son, Trent (Janet) Amond of Jamesville; her grandsons, Tristan and Ryley; and her sister, Dorothy Ann Brady. Lee was active in the Syracuse Symphony Auxiliary (and was named Music Woman of the Year for 1988), the Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (where she helped found the “Lights of Love” campaign) and many other civic organizations.

She was named a Post-Standard Woman of Achievement in 1990 for Cultural Development. She was much loved by her friends and family. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 19 at 1:30 pm at Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel, 3690 Erie Blvd East, DeWitt.

A calling hour will precede the service from 12:30-1:30 pm. Interment will follow in DeWitt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crouse Hospital.
