Obituary for MARY ANN (PETROCCI) VALENTI Mary Ann Valenti, 82, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Francis House on Sunday September 9, 2018. Born in Syracuse, NY along with her twin sister Anne, their family settled in Solvay, NY where she lived most of her life. At the age of 19 she met the love of her life Vincent Valenti and married him a year later in 1956.

Mary Ann was a home maker most of her life tending to her 3 sons, and eventually taking care of her 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, which she loved more than anything! As her boys got older she went to work for the West Genesee School District where she later retired after 23 years. Mary Ann was the first person on the dance floor, the life of the party, she spent many nights dancing at the casino.

Her love of music was infectious. Most of all, she loved her family and grandchildren, with an open door policy for coffee, pastina and pizza fritte upon request any time day or night. There are no words to express how much we will miss her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent “Jimmy” in 2011, parents John and Theresa Petrocci and grandson, Dante. She is survived by her 3 sons; James, of Syracuse, John (Alison), of Webster and Paul (Sarah), of Syracuse, 9 grandchildren; Melissa (Keith), Amanda, Christopher (Kailee), Kai, Dustin, Olivia, Andrew James, Izabella and Roman, 2 great grandchildren; Jacob and Alaina, and one great granddaughter on the way! Mary Ann is also survived by her twin sister, Anne (Bill) Campbell, of Solvay, NY and a large extended family.

Special thanks to her caregivers over the last few weeks, Rita and Debbie. The staff at Hospice of Central NY, and the staff at Francis House. Mary Ann was determined to “live until she died”, and that she did!
