Obituary for ROBERT L. DEVERS Robert L. Devers, 93, of Geddes, passed away on July 11, 2018. Mr. Devers worked most of his life as a carpenter, and was part of the Carpenter’s Union. He was very proud of his fine craftsmanship.

He trained in military service but the war ended before he was deployed. He would often say with tears in his eyes, “I wanted to fight, I was ready”. He loved his country.

He was courageous, honest and hard working. He was scrappy. He was faithful both to his family and his God.

He was all the simple good things a man could be. He was an usher at St, Cecilia’s Church for 70 years. He will visit there on Wednesday one final time.

He is pre deceased by his wife Ida (Maino), his parents, several brothers and sisters, and his best friend, Al Litz. He is survived by his daughter, Roberta Devers, two sisters, Frances Keegan and Bernice Ginnelly, a sister-in-law, Julia Devers, several nieces and nephews, two great-grandchildren, Aurora and Aadon, and the love of his life, his grandson, Aaron Robert Scott, who was born on his 60th birthday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Wednesday at St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd, Solvay.

The Rite of Committal will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue. Please offer online memories and tributes at www.
