He was born in Honolulu, HI. He was also a member of the Highlander and Kats Softball Teams and a former softball coach at Waiakea and Keaau High Schools.

Friends may call at the Dodo Mortuary chapel on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 PM, followed by cremation. The family requests casual attire and that flowers be omitted. He is survived by his: Wife, Darlene Fragas of Pahoa, HI; Daughters, Cara (Todd) Kaneshiro of Hilo, HI and Candice (Garry Kaawa) Fragas of Ka’u; Son, Lewyllen (Jacqueline Van Blarcom) Fragas, Jr. of Papaikou, HI; Mother, Mary Fragas of Hilo, HI; Brothers, Harding (Michelle) Fragas of Keaau, HI and Harlen (Leona) Fragas of Hilo, HI; Sister, Marylou (Clifford) Hokoana of Pahoa, HI; Hanai Mother, Lei Pae of Oahu; Brother-in-law, Dave Eaglin of Hilo, HI; eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.
