Linda J. Simpson, 70, of Flora, went home to be with the Lord at 6:30 am Thursday, December 27, 2018 at her home. She was born December 22, 1948 in Bluefield, West Virginia to Robert E. and Alice (Mason) Lee. She married Ned Chriss Simpson Jr. on April 12, 1984 in Young America and he survives.

Linda retired from Frito Lay with 13 years service. She was a member of Family Worship Center Church in Kokomo and served as head usherette for many years. Linda enjoyed deer hunting, camping, fishing and mushroom hunting.

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving family include her husband, Ned Chriss Simpson Jr., her children, Angela (Michael) Strop, Brant (Dawn) Belcher and Julia (Juan) Benavidez; her step children, Tim (Elizabeth D’Agostino) Simpson, Suzanne (Grant) Davis and Kristie Simpson. Surviving grandchildren include Crisany (Troy) Zook, Zachary (Grace Ballard) Strop, John (Marissa) Benavidez, Lauren Benavidez, Brandon Belcher and Jason Belcher; surviving step grandchildren, Eliza (Jacob) Barkley, Ariel (Josh) Barcus, Grady, Gannon and Danica Davis.

Surviving great grandchildren include, Lola Zook, Lincoln Zook, Lex Zook, Cali Belcher and another one on the way. Surviving siblings, Carolyn (James) Williams, Bobbi (Charles) Mcglothlin and Robert Lee; Brother and Sister In-laws, Frank (Mae) Simpson, Mark (Staci) Simpson, Phyllis (Jim) Gish, Dutie (Gene) Browning. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, a special great niece Janaleigh McClish and her furbaby Jordie.

She is preceded in death by Robert and Alice Lee, Ned and Phyllis Simpson, her son Walter Belcher II, stepson Tom Simpson, sister, Judy Asbury and beloved furbaby Mitzie. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to St. Vincent Hospice and St. Vincent Home Health, Jenny Reed, RN, Dr. Diana Andrews, MD, Julie Maggard, RN, Mindy Halupa, RN, and Megan Dillman, CNA. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Family Worship Center Church, 1149 E. Center Road in Kokomo.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 also at Family Worship Center with Pastor James Bradley officiating. Burial will follow services at Center Cemetery north of Young America. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Worship Center in Linda’s honor.
