Linda’s Obituary Linda L. (Freda) McCredie, 66, of New London, CT, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Beechwood surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Anthony P. Freda and Helen J. (Lombardo) Freda Micali on October 15, 1952, in Hartford, CT. Linda graduated from East Hartford High School in East Hartford, CT, in 1970.

Following high school, she graduated from The New London Academy of Hairdressing and became a “hairdresser extraordinaire”, a profession that she continued throughout her life. She formed many lasting friendships including clients of over 30 years. Linda worked at several salons in the New London area, the most recent at Bijou Salon and Spa in Waterford.

Growing up in the Hartford area, she enjoyed spending summers with her family at the beach on the shore in Old Lyme. She has been a resident of CT her entire life and resided in New London, for the past 25 years. She married Bob McCredie on September 15, 2013, and together with their families they made many great, long-lasting memories.

Linda leaves behind a large and loving family. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her children and grandchildren. Her beloved daughter, Heather Willis and her husband Michael and twin daughters Noelle and Nicole as well as her beloved son Sean McFadden, and his wife Renee along with children Sean Jr., Krysti, Tayler, Ethan and Austin.

She leaves her stepchildren Meredith Tukey and her husband Rob and their sons, Jake and Connor and Jon McCredie and his wife Stefanie and their children, Tyler and Belle. Linda is also survived by her sister, Diana Powell and her husband, Marty. She also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews.

Linda was predeceased by her twin sisters, Mary Ann Furman and Genevieve Cavanaugh. Linda treasured family time and was happiest when everyone was all together. She was a constant presence at both her children’s and grandchildren’s events from football games to dance performances.

Grandma was always in the stands and audience and was their number one supporter and fan. When she wasn’t at her grandchildren’s and family events, she loved catching up during lunch dates. Most of all, being there for everyone at any time and giving of herself whenever needed was her true passion.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019, 11:30-2:30 at Tony D’s restaurant in New London, a special place to Linda that holds many memories of cherished gatherings with family and loved ones. Linda will forever be in our hearts. The family would like to thank all the staff at Beechwood for their support and guidance through this difficult journey.
