Linda Lee (Friesland) Fenton, 72, of Gillespie, IL, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. in Gillespie, IL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro, IL.

Burial will take place in Clear Springs Cemetery, Hillsboro, IL. Dr. Ronald D. Rhodus will officiate. Mrs. Fenton was born on April 6, 1946 in Hillsboro, IL to the late George E. and Helen M. (Sanders) Friesland.

She attended Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, IL and worked for the State of Illinois Secretary of State’s Office for many years. Mrs. Fenton lived in the Hillsboro, IL area and in Gillespie, IL during her lifetime. She married Bruce E. Fenton, Sr. and they later divorced.

Mrs. Fenton was a very proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Fenton is survived by a son, Bruce E. (wife Angelia) Fenton, Jr. of Mt. Clair, IL; four grandchildren, Bruce Fenton, III of Mt.

Clair, IL, Nicholas Hall of Litchfield, IL, Sarhea Vandiver of Hannibal, MO, and Kaitlynn Hall Fenton of Mt. Clair, IL; three great-grandchildren; and 10 siblings, William (wife Diane) Friesland of Witt, IL; Violet Van Dee of Wilsonville, IL; George (wife Vickie) Friesland of Litchfield, IL; Patsy Meir of Wisconsin; James (wife Melody) Friesland of Decatur, IL; Claude (wife Rhonda) Friesland of Ramsey, IL; Dean Friesland of Ramsey, IL; Joe (wife Melissa) Friesland of Taylorville, IL; Daniel Friesland of Springfield, IL; and Helen (husband Richard) Berner of Ramsey, IL. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
