Linda’s Obituary Linda “Lin” Mary (McClung) Huhn died surrounded by family at home in Conway, SC on February 4, 2019. Lin was born in Clarksburg, WV on September 5, 1947 to James C. and Mary R. (Whyte) McClung. Lin was the first woman to earn a BFA in Industrial Design from The Ohio State University School of the Arts, with a very strong minor in Political Science in 1970.

She fostered a love of learning in her children, and never stopped learning herself. Lin followed the golden rule first and foremost: “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you”. Her family always came first, and she did everything she could to support, encourage, help, advise and guide those she cared about.

“All you people, I love you,” a statement she learned from her firstborn when he was very young, was often her way of saying goodbye. She’d want us all to remember that, first and foremost. She was an avid reader, a wordsmith, a knitter, a seamstress, a collector of and expert on antiques, as well as an award-winning folk and portrait artist.

She rarely lost a Scrabble game or a debate. She married Robert “Bob” A. Huhn, the love of her life, in 1970. Together they have lived in Hawaii, Italy, Illinois (twice), Ohio, Rhode Island, California, Massachusetts, and South Carolina, and she leaves behind countless friends in each place they lived.

Lin is survived by her mother, Mary McClung; Husband, Bob; children Kurt A. Huhn (Karin), Tricia L. Rawnsley (Andrew), Elizabeth “Liz” B. Huhn, and Margaret “Maggie” Jasmin (Reya); and grandchildren Jordan, Garrett, Devon, MacKenzie, Geoffrey, Colton, Kevin, Aiden, Emma, James, and Alex; siblings Mike, Kathy, and Jim and and Bob’s siblings Bill, Nancy, and Patricia and their families. The dogs in her life were just as important to her as her human family. She’ll be reunited with Mick, Bozo, Heidi, and Zeeva in Heaven, and is survived by Xena, Ariel, and Maia.

She was preceded in death by her brother, John and his wife Lori; her father, James; and Bob’s brother, Don; sister-in-law, Patti; mother, Catherine and father, Alexander. A memorial service will be held at a later time, after her family has prepared a fitting celebration of life. When and where will be communicated once determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking you to consider donations to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation (lcfh.org); The Rock Church (rockc3.com) Conway, SC; Christ the Servant Lutheran Church (ctslc.org) Conway, SC.
