Linda’s Obituary Linda Wells, 76, of Benbrook, TX, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 in Denton, TX. She was born October 13, 1942 in Tioga, TX to Leandie Sidney and Lillian F. (Morris) Laird. Linda was a graduate of Denton High School and she worked for Westvaco for 30 years.

Linda is survived by her “adopted” sons, Alan Smith and Ken Riggs; sister, Betty Hutchins of Hughes Springs, TX; three nephews, Wendell Hutchins of Sherman, TX, David Laird of Mesquite, TX, and Richard Laird of Mesquite, TX; and two nieces, Rebecca Word of Mabank, TX and Carol Jones of Benbrook, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Derek Wakefield, also known as Robert Wells; brother, Billy Lee Laird; and nephew, Paul Laird. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX with Wendell Hutchins officiating.

Inurnment at Belew Cemetery in Aubrey, TX will occur at a later time. Online condolences may be shared at www. slaymemorialfuneralhome.com.
