Lois’ Obituary Lois M. Newman, age 93, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at her residence. She was born March 29, 1925, in Ashland, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Bjork) Tucci. In 1943, she graduated from Ashland High School.

On October 20, 1946, she married Eugene Newman, in Ashland. Lois was the owner and operator of Newman’s Café, in Ashland, for many years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Ashland.

Lois enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking, going to the Casino, boating, being in the outdoors and going to the cabin on Long Island. She is survived by two children, Carolyn Brinker and Gary (Mary) Newman, both of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Kary Brinker, Rick (Jennifer) Brinker, John Brinker, Tina (Dan) Walman, Kim (Chris Place) Newman, Rebecca (Derek) Marincel, Jessica (Michael) Moore, and Eugene Newman; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan (Harley) Samuelson, Ashland; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and her adopted Brinker family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene in 1988; four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Donald, and James Tucci; a sister, Audrey Erickson; son-in-law, Bill Brinker; two sisters-in-law, Anne Tucci and Karen Tucci; and brother-in-law, Lee Erickson.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Frost Home for Funerals, in Ashland, with Pastor Dale Chesley officiating. Spring interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, in Ashland. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Frost Home for Funerals and Ashland Crematory Service.
