Lois J. Beckmann, age 89, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Fountain View Manor, Granite City, IL. Lois was born on June 22, 1929 in Edwardsville, IL, a daughter of the late William and Katherine Borchwardt. Lois was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Granite City, IL.

On March 1, 1952, Lois married Ralph Beckmann, the love of her life, at St. John United Church of Christ. Lois retired from Stix Baer & Fuller, where she worked in the jewelry department for many years. Lois was a true farmer’s wife; she drove the grain truck to the grain elevator in East St. Louis during harvest time.

She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lois is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Beckmann of Granite City, IL; dear sister-in-law, Merle Rose of Granite City, IL; extended family and many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL. In celebration of her life, funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev.

Karla Frost officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL. Memorial donations may be given to St. John United Church of Christ.
