Loni Stelma, 70, of Charleroi, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Born on October 23, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William and Emma (Haas) DeGiacomo. She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church, and was formerly a cook at The Maple’s and Rego’s, and worked at Model Cleaners.

She tended bar at the Charleroi American Legion, and she was a charter member of the Charleroi American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as the first President for 5 years. An avid reader, she also enjoyed making latch hook rugs and spoon collecting. Loni is survived by her husband, Walt Stelma, Jr., whom she married on June 13, 1970; son, Walter “Chip” Stelma III (Maria Stasko), of Charleroi; daughter, Michelle Tegtmeier (James), of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Trey Stelma (Amanda Boyd), Derrick, Meagan (Chris Timko), Jordyn, and Sarah Tegtmeier; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Logan, and Declan; mother-in-law, Marie Stelma; and her dog, Dexter.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a grandson, Alex Stelma; and father-in-law, Walter Stelma, Sr. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave. , Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. A Blessing will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, in the funeral home, with interment following in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
