Loretta Romanowski, November 10, 1928 — March 24, 2019

Loretta’s Obituary Mary “Loretta” Romanowski, age 90, of Harleysville, went to heaven on Sunday, March 24, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence A. Romanowski with whom she shared over 40 years of marriage. Born November 10, 1928 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Henry “Harry” and Margaret (Grasser) Weiler.

Loretta started working for Lower Salford Township as a clerk in 1968, and appointed the first Township Manager in 1978, and served in that capacity until her retirement in 1998. Loretta was known as “Mom” by her township family and will be remembered as a person who would go out of her way to assist and offer good advice. Loretta loved traveling to Maine on vacation and spending time at the family shore house in New Jersey.

She was a lover of all animals and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and deer that came to her property. Her family will miss her great sense of humor and her ability of finding the best in any situation. She was lovingly called Grammy by her grandchildren and Nanny Retta by her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Loretta West and her husband Winfield S.; grandchildren Nicole Hobson and her husband Travis, Katherine West Mohr and her husband David, Lawrence Romanowski and his wife LoriAnn, Amy Knappenberger and her husband Pete; great grandchildren Avett, McCartney and Mayer Hobson, Tess Mohr, April, Devin and Eric Romanowski, Sareena Breyer, Colby Knappenberger; great-great grandson Bryson Gordon. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Lawrence E. Romanowski, her brother Harry and sister Margaret Weiler. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446, where the family will greet guests from 9:00 – 9:45 AM.

Interment will take place in Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Loretta’s name may be made to Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Attn: Melissa Hewitt, 559 W.
