Martha E Gulick, May 21, 1924 — March 20, 2019

Martha’s Obituary Martha E. “Marty” Gulick, of Perkasie, PA, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at the Laurels at Hidden Meadows on the Ridge, West Rockhill Township, PA. She was 94. She was the wife of 63 years of the late J. Richard Gulick until his passing on June 1, 2009.

Born in State College, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Nellie R. (Ramsay) Evans. A graduate of Sell-Perk High School, Perkasie, she attained her Registered Nursing Degree from Abington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Abington, PA, in 1945. Mrs. Gulick began her registered nursing career at a physician’s office in Souderton, PA, from 1946 to 1951 and then with Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp.

, PA, from 1951 to 1953. In 1953, she began her employment at a physician’s office in Perkasie, PA, first for Dr. Wilbert Lyons which later became the family practice of Drs. Richard Price, James Conrad and David Moll, working there for 45 years until retiring in 1998.

She was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Perkasie, PA. Mrs. Gulick volunteered making bandages and packing supplies for the soldiers during World War II. Following her retirement, dressed in her uniform, she visited various schools and organizations educating the public about the War.

While she and her late husband were members of Indian Valley Country Club, Telford, PA, they loved going to dinner and socializing there, especially at its dances. Dancing was another joy they shared as a couple. An accomplished swimmer, she especially enjoyed traveling, refinishing furniture as well as tending to her plants and flowers.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marion E. Norton. Her Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 29, 2019, at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, 110 N. Sixth Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow in St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, Perkasie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, 110 N. Sixth Street, Perkasie, PA 18944. Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie.
