She was born in Duxbury, VT on February 11, 1944, the daughter of Frank and Edna (Ravlin) Wagner. She attended schools in Montpelier and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1963.

On February 18, 1975, she married Jamie Jenkins in Anchorage AK. Jamie predeceased her on September 22, 2018. Lorraine’s early years were spent working for Ready Plastic, bartending and managing the White Stallion.

After moving to Alaska she began providing daycare to other military families. Once her and her husband moved back to VT in 1977 Lorraine continued to provide child care for many families in the Central VT area before retiring in 2006. Lorraine’s passions in life that made her the happiest, brought that smile to her face and lit up her eyes were her family and friends.

You may recognize her from local restaurants/pubs that she frequented as she loved to socialize, drink her diet Coke, eat a hot dog or salad with no lettuce. You had to be on your toes at all times because she loved to play pranks and scare people. Another big passion of hers was country music and the Boston Red Sox.

Country music started with the “twangy” country music in the 60’s, but Blake Shelton turned that around to today’s country. She was a life time member of the VFW Post 792 Ladies Auxiliary. She also was gifted with creating many wonderful memories with her variety of crafts, woodworking and quilting.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Ladd (Randy) of Berlin; Step children, Brian Jenkins (Marlowe) of Jericho, VT, and Michael Gilman (Mari-Jo) of Williamstown, VT; grandchildren, Tyler Ladd (fiancé Heather Loati) of Berlin and Jami-Miranda Gagnon (Nicholas) of Murfreesboro, TN; siblings, Archola Harlow of Berlin and Gay Rouelle of West Berlin, four grand grandchildren, 1 great grandson and many nieces and nephews. Thank you to all of Lorraine’s loving caregivers, CVMC, Woodridge, CVHHH and her loving family. RIP Lorraine, Mom, LuLu, Meme, Trouble and Mummy you will forever be in our hearts.
