Obituary for Louis G. Schaeding Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Age 80 years. Son of the late Grant and Jane (Krueger) Schaeding, Louis was born January 22, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan.

He was married to Joanne A. Bok on March 4, 1961. She survives him. Louis was one of the former owners of Hamilton Electric retiring in 2017.

He was a member of the Lutheran Faith. Louis was a member of the Saginaw Township Fire Department from 1968 to 1988 and retired as Assistant Chief of Station #2. He also a member of Strokers Car Club.

He enjoyed hunting, traveling and riding his Harley with his brother Gary. Surviving besides his wife Joanne are two daughters and one son, Kelly and Mike Berent, Tawas; Jeffrey and Brenda Schaeding, Saginaw; Karri and Tony Robertson, Saginaw; eight grandchildren, Christopher Berent and his girlfriend Blayne Lutz, Corbin Berent and his fiancée Kaleigh Krajkowski, Cody Berent, Airman First Class Chloe Schaeding, Owen Schaeding, Taylor Robertson, Keegan Robertson, Ty Robertson; two great grandchildren, Ridge and Brooklyn Berent and their mother Hollie Hokanson; his brother and best friend, Gary Schaeding, Saginaw; two sisters, Linda and Robert “Doug” Tansley, Florida; Diane and Jim Nye, Merrill; brother-in-law, Raymond Bok, Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. Louis was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leonard and Janet Bok, and his sister–in-law, Mary Kay Bok.

Honoring Mr. Schaeding’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty).

Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to time of service.
