Louis is survived by his children, Sheryl Her Many Horses, Robin Her Many Horses, and Leonard Her Many Horses all of Oglala, SD, and Clayton Ten Fingers of Wounded Knee, SD; brother, Michael Her Many Horses of Wounded Knee, SD, aunt, Lillian Red Star of Wounded Knee, SD; 28 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Emily Her Many Horses; children, Louis J. Her Many Horses, Jr., Luann Her Many Horses, and Allan Dean Her Many Horses; brothers, Leo Her Many Horses, Sr., Everett Her Many Horses, Cleve Her Many Horses, and Bill Her Many Horses; sister, Rita Stoldt; and grandsons, Jordan Her Many Horses, Richard Ten Fingers III, and Joseph Her Many Horses. Wake Services: One night wake services starting at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Rosary Services being held at 7:00 PM.
