Obituary for Louis Joseph Ware Louis J. Ware, age 57, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. He was born September 28, 1960, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Louise B. Ware (mother) and Lionel Ware Sr (father). He was a 1978 graduate of Walter L. Cohen High school and was formally educated at Louisiana State University.

Louis enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1979. Lieutenant General Benjamin N. Bellis awarded him the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Humanitarian award for his achievements and efforts during the earthquake which ravaged southern Italy. After being honorably discharged, Louis embarked on a career with the United States Postal Service.

He worked as a letter carrier until his retirement in 2008. Louis was known by his colleagues for being outspoken and well groomed. He devoted over 33 years to the National Association of Letter Carriers.

Louis displayed unrivaled dedication to helping his union members. He sat on the NALC Branch board since 2008 as the Assistant Secretary and recently on the Board of Trustees. He has attended all state and national conventions for the last 20 years.

Louis was preceded in death by his father, and his nephew (Lionel Ware III). He is survived by his mother, daughter; Adriana Ware Garnier; son-in-law; Nicki M. Garnier Jr,; two Stepdaughters, Iesha and Elizabeth Jordan; ex-wife; Pamela Jordan; sister, Sherrilynn Ware; two brothers, Lionel Ware Jr. and Lysanders Shaw; three grandchildren, Nila Garnier, Isaiah L. Jordan, Rondrick Washington; niece, Lotoya Kelly and a host of great grand nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend A Memorial Service at Household of Faith, 9300 I-10 Service Road on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:00 am.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Interment: Private. Arrangements by D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave.
