Obituary for Lucille Schneider Lucille F. Schneider, 83, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday June 3, 2018 surrounded by family. Lucille was born July 16, 1934 to Francis & Edna (Burck) Conway in Gordon, NE. When Lucille was 7, the family moved to Wenatchee where Lucille attended school, graduating with the class of 1952.

She loved playing her saxophone and being a member of the Golden Apple Marching Band. She also enjoyed roller dancing. After graduation, Lucille met and fell in love with Ellis Schneider and they were married on October 1, 1955 in Wenatchee.

They were blessed to celebrate 60 years of marriage together while living on the family wheat farm in Waterville. There they welcomed four children, Julia, Debra, Tony & Polly. Lucille loved being a homemaker and raising her children.

She loved gardening and teaching her kids how to can and freeze the vegetables from the farm and fruit from the valley. There was always a hot home cooked meal awaiting anyone who visited. She enjoyed baking and earned Apple Queen & Baking Queen trophies from the NCW District Fair.

She passed her love of cooking & baking onto her kids. She loved the NCW Fair and was the ‘hub’ of the Petting Zoo. Lucille was the behind the scene person who supported her husband and family in all their activities – she truly was the glue that held the family together.

She loved having the whole family sing when traveling, often making the trips seem much shorter because the car was filled with music the entire trip. Her kids and grandkids were spoiled with love, kisses, cuddles and reading. She always made time to kiss boo boos, bake cookies, and watch the kids and grandkids’ school and church activities.

For many years, Lucille hosted the Waterville Kindergartners at the family farm during sheep shearing. She lived what she believed – loving and following Christ her entire life. Lucille was a Douglas County 4-H Leader and a member of The United Lutheran Church and for many years was active in the Mary Martha Circle.

Lucille is survived by her children, son, Tony Schneider, daughters, Julia (Bob) Goodman, Debra (Vern) Schneider, Polly (Bill) Schneider, grandsons, Jason (Carly) and Travis (Kelsey) Bartlett, Brett (Hannah), Justin (Nikki), Willy (Amberly) and Wesley (Shawnda) Schneider and great-grandchildren McKenzi, Gracie, Cole and Lainee Bartlett, Michael, Zach and Jade Schneider. She was preceded in death by her husband Ellis, parents and daughter Mary Jo. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday June 15, 2018 at The United Lutheran Church in Waterville.

Memorial contributions can be made in Lucille’s name to The United Lutheran Church, “Friends of the Fair” c/o NCW Fair or The Waterville Ambulance Fund. Arrangements are by Chapel of the Valley, Wenatchee.
