Obituary for Vestle “L.C.” Ayers Vestle L.C. Ayers, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in La Follette, TN, on October 3, 1936, to James and Berta Ayers. At the age of 20, he ventured through many states before making his way to Omak, WA, where he met the love of his life, Wilma Dudgeon, and they married August 3, 1959.
They planted their roots in Peshastin, WA, where he worked at the Cashmere Mill, before pursuing his career in the orchard industry. They welcomed their son, Timothy Ayers, in June of 1961. He enjoyed life to the fullest, from singing and playing his guitar, to going to church and spending time with family and friends.
Vestle is survived by his wife, Wilma Ayers; son, Tim (Patty) Ayers; brother, RL (Gloria) Ayers; sisters: Georgie and Azilee; four grandchildren: Katie Ayers, Deana (Mike) Port, Mike Trowbridge, Keri (Jason) Heinz; and five great-grandchildren: Easton, Taylor, Maggie, Elizabeth, and Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bertha Ayers; brothers: Virgil, and Bill; and sisters: Lena, Jallie, and Mallie. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at Chapel of the Valley, 302 9th St., Wenatchee, WA.
A Graveside Service will proceed at Evergreen Memorial Park, 1301 NE 10th St., East Wenatchee, WA, with a potluck to follow. Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Chapel of the Valley, Wenatchee, WA.
