Lucille “Lucy” Sodini, 73, of Crystal Falls passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. She was born October 14, 1945 in Calumet, MI, daughter of the late Kenneth and Lydia (Wittaniemi) Bylkas. Lucy graduated from Lake Linden High School in 1963 and went on to obtain her degree as a Registered Nurse from the Henry Ford School of Nursing.

She married Roger D. Sodini on August 13, 1966 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden. They eventually moved to Iron Mountain where Lucy worked as a nurse at the V.A. Hospital prior to taking a position with the office of Dr. Edward Kadletz in Kingsford. Lucy also worked at Crystal Manor in Crystal Falls, MI for a few years.

She retired in 2007 as the Assistant Director of Nursing at the Iron County Medical Care Facility. Lucy and Roger loved the outdoors, and as a result, purchased a home and property on Lake Mary in 1995. She also enjoyed reading and making beaded jewelry.

She was an excellent seamstress and spent many hours sewing and quilting. Most of all, Lucy loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her two sons, Scott (Joan) Sodini of Traverse City, MI and Chad (Kay) Sodini of Peshtigo, WI; four grandchildren, Taylor, Nathan, Joseph and Jillian Sodini; two brothers, Steve (Judy) Bylkas of Baltimore, MD and Paul Bylkas of Bootjack, MI; a sister, Shirley (Gerald) Lamppa of Calumet, MI and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Roger, in 2017. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Fr. Janusz Romanek will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
